North West Hospital and Health Service gifted pallet of linen and clothes for patients across the region
Group Linen Services has generously donated a pallet of linen and clothes for use across the North West Hospital and Health Service (HHS) including for use by some of our community groups.
The donation included blankets, sheets, towels, linen bags and clothes that will significantly increase linen supplies at the Mount Isa Hospital and other North West HHS facilities.
Acting Executive Director of People, Culture and Planning Sylvie Brdjanovic said this generous act would make a difference to many individuals in the community.
“These essential items are used every day by patients across our facilities and this donation will boost our supplies and ensure that we continue to keep our patients clean and comfortable while providing high quality healthcare,” she said.
Acting Health Service Chief Executive Sean Birgan also thanked Group Linen Services for their kind act.
“We are very grateful to the staff of Group Linen Services for choosing to donate this linen to our health service and for collating stock from across three sites in the South-East corner, boxing and packing the goods for shipment, as well as organising transport all the way from Brisbane to Mount Isa.”
Group Linen Services is one of the largest linen services in Australia and supply linen to many Queensland public hospitals.
As part of the Department’s inhouse supply chain, Group Linen Services, Central Pharmacy and Supply Chain Services are committed to looking at how they can better support the needs of North West HHS and the remote communities we serve.
